Back to Our Roots

Learn to Start Your Own Flowers From Seed in a Relaxed, Beginner-Friendly Workshop at Lion's Tail Brewing Co.

For One Night, We're Bringing Gardening Back to Its Original Home in Wauwatosa

Long before beer was poured at Lion’s Tail Brewing Co., this building was home to Wisconsin Garden & Pet, where generations of locals came each spring to buy their garden plants.

We thought it was only fitting to bring gardening back here again.

No complicated gardening advice.
No overwhelm.

Just a cozy night out, a drink in hand, and the quiet joy of planting something that will grow.

What a Night at This Workshop Feels Like

You arrive at Lion’s Tail Brewing Co. just as the evening settles in.

The tables are set with trays of soil, seed packets, and planting supplies waiting for you. You grab your drink, find a seat, and settle in with a small group of people who are all curious about the same thing — learning how to grow something beautiful.

We’ll guide you step-by-step through planting your seeds, sharing simple tips along the way so everything feels approachable and doable.

There’s conversation, a little laughter, and the quiet satisfaction of getting your hands in the soil.

By the end of the evening, you’ll walk out carrying your own planted seed trays — tiny beginnings that will soon grow into the flowers you’ll cut this summer.

It’s a small moment to slow down, learn something new, and reconnect with the simple joy of growing.

Seed Starting Feels Magical

The flowers you plant in this workshop will become the same kinds of blooms we grow on our flower farm for summer bouquets.

Imagine stepping outside this summer and cutting flowers you grew yourself.
